Our Mission
Soil and Water Districts began in 1935 when the U.S. was in the middle of the worst man made ecological disaster - The Dust Bowl.  
The Wood SWCD was chartered in 1949. 

Dedicated to the care of the environment through responsible land and water policies, conservation practices, development, oversight and environmental education.

Ohio Department of Agriculture Internships

​The Ohio Department of Agriculture is currently accepting applications for the following College Intern positions. These internships will be a 12-week PAID position. Students will work closely with ODA and SWCD staff to gain knowledge of conservation practices and programs across Ohio.

The Wood Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors holds the regular monthly meetings the third Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the district  office.  The meetings are open to the public.
