Workshops & Classroom Presentations

,The Wood SWCD offers in school classroom presentations for students as well as education workshops for educators of all types. 
​Contact Julie Lause, Administrative Assistant and Outreach Coordinator, for options. 

Classroom Presentations 

Hands-on classroom activities covering conservation topics are available for all grade levels meeting current curriculum standards. Presentations are 30 to 45 minutes; however, adjustments can be made.

2022 NCF Envirothon
The 2022 Area 1 competition is hosted at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in Ottawa County.  

The 2022 National Conservation Foundation Envirothon is hosted by Ohio at Miami University Oxford, OH.

Educator Workshops

Educator workshops offer hands-on activities, make-it-take it projects with instructions, guest speakers, and local tours. ​

The district hosts events as well as partners with other agencies and organizations.  
Black Swamp Educators Extravaganza (BSEE)
For over 20 years the soil and water conservation districts in Northwest Ohio have joined forces to provide hands-on-activities, educational speakers, and local tours of natural resource conservation, energy conservation, and local history.

The Wood Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors holds the regular monthly meetings the third Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the district  office.  The meetings are open to the public.
