From the Farm Meetings

From the Farm Meetings are offered January, February, March, July, and August for agricultural producers and the public wanting to know more about ag practices, ag concerns, and ag programs.

Tree Seedling Sale & Workshop 

The district offers an annual tree seedling sale for the landowners to purchase tree seedlings for the landscapes and agricultural windbreaks. 

Workshops are offered for producers and residential landowners for care and proper placement of trees.

Pond clinics held at a variety of locations throughout Wood County.

Thank you to the Board of County Commissioners for their interest and financial support in the mission of the Wood SWCD. The district is able to continue the boots on the ground efforts with their encouragement and financial backing. 

Fingerling Fish Sale & Pond Clinic

Fingerling fish sales are offered for landowners who need to stock farm ponds.  Look for sales and clinics in the spring.

The spring pre-order fish sale is January - April with pick-up at the end of April, beginning of May. 

​Election of Supervisors

The Wood Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors election was August 19 through September 17, 2022 in conjunction with the Wood County Ag-Venture event.  Dylan Baer and Marc Schaller were elected to each serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2023.  

The Wood SWCD Board of Supervisors is comprised of five volunteer members elected in special election by county residents and landowners.  Each member serves a three-year term.

Find us locally.

The Wood Soil and Water Conservation District is out and about in the community offering programs to children and adults on nutrient management, soil health, water quality, pollinators, native plants, agriculture, and a host of topics conservation practices for farmland as well as residential lots. Look for us at the Wood County Fair, in a classroom, or out in a field. 

Follow the Wood Soil and Water Conservation District for events in the area. However, due to the current public health concerns, the district is refraining from in-person public programming at this time.  Please contact the district if you are looking for specific events or information.

The Wood Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors holds the regular monthly meetings the third Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the district  office.  The meetings are open to the public.
