Natural Resources Conservation Service
Originally established by Congress in 1935 as the Soil Conservation Service, NRCS has expanded to become a conservation leader for all natural resources. NRCS helps producers and landowners put conservation on the land. In Wood County we take the conservation part of the Farm Bill and deliver the programs at the county level as well as providing technical assistance in various conservation endeavors. NRCS works closely with various conservation partners including Wood County Soil & Water Conservation District to provide support to the local programs and initiatives.
